Washworks' wash system combines both tunnel and traditional hand wash methods. Each method has key advantages and drawbacks. We have created a system that maximizes the advantages and removes the damaging drawbacks of each method.
Most tunnels utilize high-speed mitters, which are essentially long strands of wash mitt material that spin at high speed. While these mitters are effective at cleaning, they can also scratch the finish of your vehicle. All mitts will enevitably pick up dirt as they are used. If the mitts are used over a vehicle's finish gently and slowly by hand, the dirt particles will not scratch. However, if they are being beaten over the finish, scratches will likely occur.
Also, most of the newer tunnel facilities use a large amounts of wheel acid to get the wheels clean. This process is absolutely damaging to a wheel's finish, particularly over time.
Washing your car by hand is the gentlest way to go. However, if the finish is not lubricated properly before the wash then hand washing can be dangerous. It is necessary to adequately lubricate to minimize the friction between the mitt and the paint. If you wash your vehicle in your driveway or use a traditional hand carwash the only lubrication that is used is water. Water is NOT an adequate lubricant for your paint's finish. Over time, you will notice lots of faint scratches in your vehicle's finish. These scratches can be buffed out, but, it can be costly.
At Washworks, your vehicle's finish is continually lubricated throughout the wash process. Your wheels are hand cleaned using only a light degreaser and soft brushes. We utilize two SLOW-speed mitters that help clean the top of your vehicle, however, the majority of your paint will be hand washed at WashWorks!

I have been looking for a high end carwash since my move to Georgia. Finally my search is over. At first I was unsure about thier tunnel because of the automated equipment that was visible from their vacume area but thier sales person(who was not only friendly but seemed very intelligent) informed me that this carwash was some what of a hybrid containing only two pieces of equipment that actually touch your car. The rest of the work is preformed by two people who handwash your car the old fashioned way. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes and I can honestly say that they put out the cleanest car I have ever seen.
